The Manchester Squires are taking a road trip to take on the Whitko Wildcats at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. Manchester will be strutting in after a victory while Whitko will be coming in after a loss.
Manchester is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They blew past Churubusco 21-10 on Saturday. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Squires considering their one-run performance the matchup before.

Landen Bean was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing three innings while giving up just two earned (and two unearned) runs off five hits. He has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than two walks in six consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-5 with two RBI and one double. Those two RBI gave him a new career-high.
In other batting news, Hunter Hamilton was a standout: he got on base in all five of his plate appearances with one home run, two stolen bases, and five RBI. Those five RBI gave him a new career-high. Keston Poe also deserves some recognition as he scored his first runs of the season.
Manchester always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .600. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Meanwhile, Whitko came up short against Fort Wayne Northrop on Saturday, falling 11-3.
Hunter Long was cooking despite his team's loss, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with two stolen bases, one triple, and one RBI. Crew Ebbinghouse was another key player, earning one run and two stolen bases.
Whitko's defeat dropped their record down to 10-5. As for Manchester, the win got them back to even at 8-8.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Monday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Manchester has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 6.8 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Whitko struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 9.3 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
Everything went Manchester's way against Whitko in their previous meeting back in May of 2025, as Manchester made off with a 6-0 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Squires since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
