Softball Recap: Fowlerville Extends Winning Streak to Four

Fowlerville came tearing into Thursday's match with three straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 9.3 runs), and they left with even more momentum. They were the clear victors by a 12-1 margin over the Charlotte Orioles. The result was nothing new for the Gladiators, who have now won six contests by eight runs or more so far this season.

Tommi Kleinschmidt was incredible, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two stolen bases and three runs. That's the most stolen bases she has posted since back in May of 2024. Another player making a difference was Kiely Davis, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with two runs, two RBI, and one double.

Fowlerville was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .412. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .412 or higher in three consecutive games.

Fowlerville now has a winning record of 9-8. As for Charlotte, their defeat was their 12th straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 0-13.

Fowlerville and Charlotte could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps Michigan Rankings. The Gladiators will take on Holt at 5:30 p.m. on Monday with a big rank disadvantage (218 vs. 103). Meanwhile, Charlotte (ranked 502nd) will meet Portland (ranked 167th) at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
