Midlothian Heritage is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Friday. Their pitcher stepped up to hand University a 16-0 shutout. Winning may never get old, but the Jaguars sure are getting used to it with their 16th in a row.
Skeylah Shirley made a splash while hitting and pitching. She didn't allow a single earned run over four innings pitched. She has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than two walks in six consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with four runs and one stolen base. That's the most runs she has posted since back in February.

She has been hot, having also posted at least one stolen base the last six times she's played. Another player making a difference was Rylee Parrish, who went 1-for-3 with two RBI, one run, and one double.
Midlothian Heritage kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 15 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in 15 consecutive matchups.
For some reason, the away team has come away with the win the last four times Wilson and Molina have met, but the home crowd finally got their W on Thursday. The Wildcats were the clear victors by a 15-8 margin over the Jaguars. The Wildcats haven't had any issues with the Jaguars recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive victory against them.
London Mcnealy was incredible, getting on base in four of her five plate appearances with one home run, six RBI, and three runs. The team also got some help courtesy of Savannah Vargas, who got on base in all five of her plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.
Midlothian Heritage pushed their record up to 26-7 with the win, which was their 11th straight at home. Those home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.9 runs over those games. As for Wilson, their win bumped their record up to 21-6.
Friday's contest might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Midlothian Heritage has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .480. However, it's not like Wilson struggles in that department as they've averaged .623. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Midlothian Heritage took their victory against Wilson in their previous matchup back in March of 2022 by a conclusive 8-2 score. Do the Jaguars have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Wildcats turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
