The West Lincoln Rebels's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Wednesday after their third straight loss. They fell to Foard 60-54. West Lincoln found out winning isn't easy when you don't work as a unit and rack up seven fewer assists than your opponent.
West Lincoln's loss came despite strong showings from Bryce Beddingfield and Gideon Allen. Beddingfield dropped a double-double on 12 points and ten rebounds, while Allen scored 14 points along with seven rebounds and four steals. Those four steals set a new season-high mark for him. Another player making a difference was Jaden Guynn, who scored nine points.
Foard's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but David Hartsoe led the charge by scoring 12 points along with five rebounds and three blocks. Hartsoe also grabbed two steals for the first time this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Holden Caldwell, who scored 11 points along with six assists and five rebounds.
West Lincoln bumped their record down to 2-5 with that defeat, which was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Foard, their win bumped their record up to 3-4.
West Lincoln will be home for the holidays to greet Bandys at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Foard, they will head out on the road to face off against North Iredell at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
