The Oakdale Warriors will head out to challenge the Sacred Heart Trojans at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Oakdale barely beat Marksville the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Warriors never let the Tigers get on the board and left with a 15-0 win on Tuesday. The Warriors have beaten the Tigers the last six times they've met, but they better watch out: this was the closest the Tigers has come to flipping the script.
Ainslie Willis made a splash no matter where she played. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out six over four innings pitched. Willis was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-2 with one triple and one run. That triple was her first of the season.
In other batting news, Kaylee Bradley was a standout: she went a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run and three runs. That's the most hits she has posted since back in March of 2024. Madison Sumbler was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI.
Oakdale kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 14 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Marksville only managed one hit.
Meanwhile, Sacred Heart entered their tilt with Cecilia on Tuesday with four consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with five. They blew past the Bulldogs 10-2.
Jolie Vidrine spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and one unearned) run on nine hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, Maci Droddy was incredible, going 1-for-2 with one home run, three runs, and three RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Aubree Guillory, who went 2-for-4 with one triple, two RBI, and one run.
Oakdale's record is now 12-7-1. As for Sacred Heart, their record now sits at 17-8.
Oakdale couldn't quite get it done against Sacred Heart when the teams last played back in March of 2018 as they fell 4-1. Can the Warriors avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
