Meanwhile, Moody faced Hewitt-Trussville in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Wednesday. The Blue Devils came out on top against the Huskies by a score of 9-6. Winning may never get old, but the Blue Devils sure are getting used to it with their fifth in a row.
The team relied heavily on Taylor Rogers, who went 2-for-4 with one home run, three runs, and one stolen base. Another player making a difference was Zoey Terry, who went 3-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double.
Moody's win was their eighth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 28-8. The road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.3 runs over those games. As for Horseshoe Bend, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 20-5-1.
Friday's game will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Horseshoe Bend hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .342.
