The Proctor Rails had already won six in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 18.5 points), and they went ahead and made it seven on Monday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Cromwell and snuck past 59-56. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Cromwell lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Siiena Anderson, who scored eight points along with five assists and two steals. Anderson has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last five times she's played. Jill Anderson was another key contributor, scoring six points along with 13 rebounds.
Proctor pushed their record up to 12-3 with that win, which was their fifth straight on the road. As for Cromwell, their loss dropped their record down to 10-5.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Proctor won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Hibbing at 7:15 p.m. on January 16th. Hibbing and Proctor are at an even 4-4 over their past eight head-to-heads. As for Cromwell, they will head out on the road to face off against Mesabi East at 7:15 p.m. on Thursday. Mesabi East has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 260 points over their last four games.
