Baseball Recap: Boulder City Takes Down Pahrump Valley in a Playoff Battle

Boulder City extended their postseason success on Friday against Pahrump Valley. They were the clear victors by a 9-2 margin over the Trojans. Considering the Eagles have won ten games by more than six runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Tate Crine spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered two runs (both of which were unearned) on four hits. He also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Boulder City is undefeated when he allows at most three earned runs, but 12-13 otherwise.

At the plate, Gauge Rhodes was incredible, going 1-for-3 with one home run and three runs. That's the most runs he has posted since back in April. Gavin Robinson was another key player, going 3-for-5 with two RBI.

Boulder City is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 20-13 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 4.0 runs on average over those games. As for Pahrump Valley, they moved to 23-11-1 with that loss, which also ended their three-game winning streak.

Boulder City has already played their next match, a 10-1 defeat against The Meadows School on the 10th. Pahrump Valley does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
