The Valley View Eagles will challenge the Oak Hills Bulldogs at 3:15 p.m. on Wednesday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Oak Hills will be up against a hot Valley View team: the squad just extended their winning streak to four. The Eagles never let Hemet get on the board and left with a 7-0 victory on Tuesday. That's two games straight that the Eagles have won by exactly seven runs.
The result came thanks to Giselle Morales's shutout, as she gave up just two hits and racked up six Ks. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up more than two walks in 11 consecutive appearances.
At the plate, Alyssa Torres was excellent, going 2-for-3 with two runs and one double. The team also got some help courtesy of Destiny Mendoza, who went 2-for-4 with one run, one double, and one RBI.
Meanwhile, Oak Hills waltzed into their game on Thursday with two straight wins... but they left with three. Everything went their way against the Scorpions as they made off with a 20-0 win. The match marked the Bulldogs' most dominant victory of the season.
CARSYN LEON looked comfortable as she tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit.
On the hitting side, SIENNA GARCIA was a standout: she went 3-for-5 with one home run, five RBI, and two runs. Those five RBI gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was MIA LOPEZ, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two stolen bases, three runs, and four RBI.
Oak Hills always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .649. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Hesperia only posted an OBP of .167.
Valley View's win bumped their record up to 22-4. As for Oak Hills, their victory bumped their record up to 11-9.
Wednesday's contest might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Valley View has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .447. However, it's not like Oak Hills struggles in that department as they've averaged .461. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Valley View skirted past Oak Hills 6-5 when the teams last played back in March of 2023. Do the Eagles have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Bulldogs turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
