On Friday Abingdon take on Central at 7:00 PM. Abingdon are the favorites in this one -- although they were the favorites in their last game, too, so the odds might count for a little less.
If Abingdon were riding high off their 21-0 takedown of Christiansburg two weeks ago, that ride came to an abrupt end. Abingdon fell to Hidden Valley 25-37.
Meanwhile, we expected Central to have trouble with the significantly higher ranked Graham last Friday, and they did. Central ended up on the wrong side of a painful 10-44 walloping at Graham's hands. Central were down by 3-37 at the end of the third quarter, which was just too much to recover from.
Abingdon took their contest against Central the last time the two teams met by a conclusive 46-14 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for Abingdon since the team won't have home-field advantage. Watch the game and check back on MaxPreps to see if the change in venue makes a difference.
