The Austin Achieve Polar Bears''s recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their eighth straight loss. They had to suffer through a rough 70-6 loss at the hands of Wimberley. Austin Achieve has not had much luck with Wimberley recently, as the team's come up short the last three times they've met.
Richard Aguilar threw for 87 yards and a touchdown while completing 100% of his passes. Anthony Rivera was his top target, picking up 35 receiving yards.
Cody Stoever was his usual excellent self, throwing for 213 yards and five touchdowns while completing 92.3% of his passes. The team also got some help courtesy of Colton Schmidt, who rushed for 103 yards and two touchdowns on only six carries.
Austin Achieve's defeat was their eighth straight at home (dating back to last season), which bumped their record down to 2-8. Admittedly, the team was facing some tough opposition over that stretch, including 8-2 Frassati Catholic and 10-4 Lago Vista (their opponents had an average overall winning percentage of 55.4% over those games). As for Wimberley, the win for they keeps them at an undefeated 10-0.
Austin Achieve does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Wimberley will face off against Pearsall at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Pearsall will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Texas Rankings (they are ranked 830th, while Wimberley is ranked 59th).
