Grassfield has gone 8-2 against Nansemond River recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Thursday. The Grizzlies are taking a road trip to challenge the Warriors at 5:45 p.m. Nansemond River took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on Grassfield, who comes in off a win.
Nansemond River will face off against a team with plenty of momentum: Grassfield extended their winning streak to three on Tuesday. The Grizzlies were the clear victors by a 10-0 margin over Indian River. The result was nothing new for the Grizzlies, who have now won four matchups by six runs or more so far this season.
Bryce Edick looked comfortable as he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits over four innings pitched. He also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Grassfield is undefeated when he allows at most one earned run, but 4-5 otherwise.

On the hitting side, Christian Coley was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with four RBI, two runs, and one triple. Those three hits gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Ian Shickley, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with three RBI, one stolen base, and one run.
Grassfield always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .577. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Indian River only posted an OBP of .263.
Great Bridge hit Nansemond River with a four-run sixth inning on Tuesday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Warriors lost 7-1 to the Wildcats. The Warriors haven't had much luck with the Wildcats recently, as the team has come up short the last five times they've met.
Nansemond River saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Buddy Baker, who went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases.
Nansemond River's defeat dropped their record down to 3-6. As for Grassfield, their record is now 7-5.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Thursday as neither team is afraid to steal. Grassfield has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 3.3 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Nansemond River struggles in that department as they've been averaging 3 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
Grassfield came out on top in a nail-biter against Nansemond River in their previous matchup back in March, sneaking past 6-5. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Grizzlies since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
