The Chesterton Academy of Notre Dame Knights lost against the Almira-Coulee-Hartline Warriors on January 5th, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. Chesterton Academy of Notre Dame was dealt a 54-18 defeat at the hands of Almira-Coulee-Hartline. While losing is never fun, Chesterton Academy of Notre Dame can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Washington basketball rankings (they are ranked 299th, while Almira-Coulee-Hartline is ranked 145th).
Annelise Curran was Chesterton Academy of Notre Dame's leading scorer, having posted nine points.
Naomi Hartman held things down on the boards with four rebounds. She took the lead distributing the ball, coming up with two assists.
Almira-Coulee-Hartline found their leader in underclassman Peyton Roberts, who scored ten points. Another player making a difference was Emma Whitaker, who scored eight points.
Chesterton Academy of Notre Dame has not been sharp recently, as they've lost five of their last six matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-7 record this season. As for Almira-Coulee-Hartline, the victory makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 11-6.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Chesterton Academy of Notre Dame's road trip will continue as they head out to face Odessa at 4:30 p.m. on January 27th. Hopefully Odessa focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 23 on Saturday. As for Almira-Coulee-Hartline, they will head out on the road to challenge Republic at 4:30 p.m. on Saturday.
