The Wellington Dukes's game last Saturday was a tough loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Wednesday. They skirted past Firelands 39-37. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory Wellington has posted yet this season.
Leading Wellington to victory were Gabby Miller and Taylor Morris. Miller scored 12 points, while Morris scored 12 points along with six rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Brooke Lehmkuhl, who scored eight points.
Wellington's win bumped their record up to 10-5. As for Firelands, their defeat ended a five-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 10-6.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Wellington will take on New London at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Firelands, they the luxury of staying home another game and will welcome Padua Franciscan at 1:30 p.m. on January 27th.
