Legacy Charter is headed into Friday's matchup looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their fourth straight games dating back to last season on Wednesday. They came up short against Colonial, falling 21-10.
Wyatt Gorby led a balanced group of hitters, going 2-for-3 with two runs, one double, and one RBI. Another player making a difference was Chani Abreu Jr., who went 2-for-4 with three RBI, one run, and one double.
Meanwhile, First Academy had to endure a five-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. Everything went their way against Real Life Christian Academy on Tuesday as they made off with a 12-3 win. Surprisingly, this marked the fourth straight game in which the away team has come away the victor in this series.
Colin Bryan made a splash while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only two hits while striking out eight over four innings pitched. Those eight strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.
In other batting news, Cole Bell and Dylan Bell did most of the damage at the plate: Cole went 2-for-5 with two runs and two RBI, while Dylan got on base in two of his five plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI. That's the most hits Cole has posted since back in April of 2025. Caiden Wilcox was another key player, getting on base in two of his five plate appearances with two runs and one RBI.
First Academy's victory bumped their record up to 2-5. As for Legacy Charter, their loss dropped their record down to 0-3.
Legacy Charter came up short against First Academy in their previous meeting back in March of 2023, falling 12-7. Can Legacy Charter avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
