The Lincoln Cougars's road trip will continue as they head out to face the Ripley Vikings at 7:30 p.m. on December 22nd. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.
Last Wednesday, things could have been worse for Lincoln, but they could have been a whole lot better as they took a 54-39 loss to Buckhannon-Upshur.
Meanwhile, after a string of four wins, Ripley's good fortune finally ran out on Tuesday. They took a 61-53 hit to the loss column at the hands of Point Pleasant. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as Ripley came into the contest with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' West Virginia basketball rankings (they are ranked 24th, while Point Pleasant is ranked 357th).
Lincoln's defeat dropped their record down to 1-3. As for Ripley, their loss ended a four-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 4-1.
Lincoln suffered a grim 74-48 defeat to Ripley when the teams last played back in December of 2022. Can Lincoln avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
