Malden might have drawn first blood against New Madrid County Central last Friday, but it was New Madrid County Central who got the last laugh. Malden found themselves the relunctant recipients of an unpleasant 26-50 punch to the gut against New Madrid County Central.
Meanwhile, Caruthersville took care of business in their home opener. They narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past Miller Career Academy 27-24. The margin of victory was a little narrower than expected seeing as Caruthersville are ranked places ahead of Miller Career Academy in the rankings.
Caruthersville's victory lifted them to 1-0 while Malden's loss dropped them down to 0-1. We'll find out if Caruthersville can add another positive mark to their record or if Malden can shake off the loss and take the spring out of Caruthersville's step.
