Decatur's Allen Castaneda rumbled for the longest rushing play in 2A Region 4 this season in his game against Hackett last week. Castaneda's team fell to the Hornets as he sprinted for 65 yards on the play and finished with 113 in all.
Hackett was the team that made the biggest jump in the rankings, moving from ninth to sixth in the league. Earlier in the week, Edward Ray's team defeated Decatur 34-7.
Will Callaway was the best wideout in the league this week as Union Christian Academy lost to Leftwich. Callaway racked up 8 receptions for 128 yards. Trevor Curtis helped Union Christian Academy's passing attack out by catching 3 balls for 52 yards.
Leading 2A Region 4 in both passing and receiving yards, the Eagles' Braxton Smith and Callaway have proven to be a lethal combination. Smith has thrown for 1,121 yards this season, while Callaway, a 6-foot-0 receiver, has 26 catches for 346 yards. Hector's Gus Nichols leads the league in rushing yards with 526.
The top two teams in the league will face off this week when first place Hector takes on second place Leftwich. Last week, the Wildcats defeated Western Yell County, while the Rattlers topped Union Christian Academy.
