If the Blake Bengals were riding high off their 72-35 takedown of the Rockville Rams on Monday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Blake took a 61-57 hit to the loss column at the hands of Magruder. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
Magruder's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Aiden Dabbondanza led the charge by dropping a double-double on 16 points and 16 rebounds. The match was Dabbondanza's third in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Sekou Bangoura, who went 8 for 14 from beyond the arc en route to 24 points and 2 assists.
Blake's loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 2-1. As for Magruder, they now have a winning record of 2-1.
Blake will take on Wheaton in a holiday battle at TBD on Friday at. Wheaton comes in still looking for their first win of the season. Magruder will be home for the holidays to greet Northwest at 7:15 p.m. on Friday.
