Even though the Highland Huskies have not done well against the Timberline Spartans recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. Highland had just enough and edged Timberline out 47-44. The win made it back-to-back wins for Highland.
Highland's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Ty Goeckner, who dropped a double-double on 18 points and 14 rebounds. Noah Watson was another key contributor, scoring eight points along with three steals.
Highland is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 13-6 record this season. As for Timberline, their loss was their fourth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 4-13.
Highland will head out on the road to face off against Kootenai at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Timberline, they will look to defend their home court on Friday against Genesee at 7:00 p.m.
