Basketball Recap: Brighton Takes a Loss

Brighton extended their losing streak to three on Friday, dropping them down to 2-4. They had to suffer through a 57-27 loss at the hands of the Bishop Noland Episcopal Day Eagles. The Bengals were down 45-16 at the end of the third quarter, and things only got worse from there.

Brighton's loss came despite strong showings from Reid Williams and Davis Wolfe. Williams posted two points and ten boards, while Wolfe scored 13 points. Williams is also on a roll when it comes to blocks, as he's now posted two or more in each of the last four games he's played.

As for Bishop Noland Episcopal Day, their win bumped their record up to 4-1. They have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won four games by 30 points or more this season.

Bishop Noland Episcopal Day's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jacob Buckhalter, who went 7-for-9 en route to 15 points. What's more, Buckhalter posted three rebounds, the most he's had since back in November of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Kollin Jackson, who had nine points and eight assists.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Brighton will challenge Christian Home Educators Fellowship at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Bishop Noland Episcopal Day, they will host Christian Academy of Louisiana at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
