3A Sunset recap Oct. 23, 2012
Sye Yates of Coquille ran for the longest rushing play in 3A Sunset this season against Bandon/Pacific last week. Yates ran for 78 yards on the play and finished with 91 on the day as his team defeated the Tigers.
Coquille extended the longest winning streak in the league this week by beating Bandon/Pacific, 47-6. The win marks fifth in a row for the David Thomason's team.
The Red Devils' offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Austin Arrant threw for 45 yards and Tristan Dixon had 23 yards receiving. Larry Bowen helped Coquille's passing attack out by catching one ball for 22 yards.
Coquille's offense has been unstoppable this season and the Red Devils feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Arrant has thrown for 227 yards and three touchdowns this season, while Bowen has six catches for 116 yards. Dixon leads the league in rushing with 581 yards.
Coquille took down the Tigers 47-6 last week, the largest margin of any game. Yates in the win.
