The North Olmsted Eagles will head out to square off against the Cloverleaf Colts at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
On Saturday, North Olmsted came up short against Bay and fell 55-42. While losing is never fun, the Eagles can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 323rd, while the Rockets are ranked 128th).

The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Katie Strong, who went 7 of 9 on her way to 14 points. Those 14 points gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Rose Lane, who posted nine points and six steals.
Even though they lost, North Olmsted smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with ten offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive boards in six consecutive matches.
Meanwhile, Cloverleaf put another one in the bag on Saturday to keep their perfect season alive. They secured a 59-55 W over Orrville. While the Colts didn't have the best season last year (they finished 8-15), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past.
Cloverleaf's win came from a few key players North Olmsted will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Evie Barth, who had 15 points in addition to six assists and five boards. Barth is also crushing it when it comes to steals: she's grabbed at least two every time she's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Mackenzie Seiwerth, who posted 12 points and three steals.
North Olmsted has traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-4 record this season. As for Cloverleaf, their record is now 7-0.
Rebounding is likely to be a big factor in this contest: North Olmsted has crashing the boards this season, having averaged 33.2 boards per game. However, it's not like Cloverleaf struggles in that department as they've been averaging 33.7 rebounds. With both teams battling to corral missed shots, we'll see if one team can grab an edge.
North Olmsted was able to grind out a solid victory over Cloverleaf when the teams last played back in November of 2023, winning 46-35. Does North Olmsted have another victory up their sleeve, or will Cloverleaf turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
