It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Emmaus had no problem doing just that  on Tuesday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with  a  3-2  win over the Freedom Patriots. The  victory continues a trend for the Hornets in their matchups with the Patriots: they've now won six in a row.
 Grayson Answini paced Emmaus' offense, picking up 14 kills. Answini got some help from  Ben Skekel and his 34 assists. Skekel was also solid from the service line:  he led the team with three aces.
 Freedom's  loss shouldn't obscure the performances of  Joe Braun, who  had four  blocks and three  digs, and  Ayden Willman, who  had 12  kills, seven  digs, three  blocks,  and two  aces. Braun has been hot for a while, having also posted 12 or more assists the last 35 times he's  played.  Bailey Fleckenstein was another key player,  getting nine  digs and three  aces.
Emmaus' win bumped their record up to 20-1. As for Freedom, their defeat dropped their record down to 19-6.
 Looking ahead, Emmaus will be playing in front of their home fans against Governor Mifflin  at 6:00  p.m.  on Tuesday. After both having extra time off, Freedom and Abington Heights will shake off the rust and duke it out  at 6:00  p.m.  on Wednesday. The Comets will roll in looking for their  fourth straight  victory, something the Patriots surely won't give up without a fight.
