The Chester Cyclones will head out on the road to face off against the Union County Yellowjackets at 6:15 p.m. on Friday. Chester is hoping to put an end to a 15-game streak of away losses.
Last Tuesday, Chester ended up a good deal behind Woodruff and lost 54-39. Chester has struggled against Woodruff recently, as their matchup on Tuesday was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.
Meanwhile, Union County's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their 12th straight loss. They were dealt a 72-21 loss at the hands of Clinton. While losing is never fun, Union County can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' South Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 255th, while Clinton is ranked 82nd).
Chester's loss dropped their record down to 3-9. As for Union County, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-16.
Everything went Chester's way against Union County in their previous matchup on January 10th as Chester made off with a 50-25 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Chester since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
