Lake Brantley is 1-9 against Seminole since October of 2014 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Lake Brantley Patriots will be playing in front of their home fans against the Seminole Seminoles at 7:00 p.m. Lake Brantley comes in on a streak of failing to score more than seven points in their last four games, a trend the team is of course eager to reverse.
Lake Brantley managed to keep up with Apopka until halftime on Friday, but things quickly went downhill from there. Lake Brantley ended up on the wrong side of a rough 27-7 walloping at the hands of Apopka. While losing is never fun, Lake Brantley can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida football rankings (they are ranked 227th, while Apopka is ranked 50th).
Meanwhile, after only three points in their last game, Seminole made sure to put some points up on the board against DeLand on Friday. Seminole came out on top against DeLand by a score of 49-42. The score was all tied up 14-14 at the break, but Seminole was the better team in the second half.
Treyvin Clark had a dynamite game for Seminole, rushing for 201 yards and three touchdowns on only ten carries. Clark's longest rush was for an incredible 78 yards. The team also got some help courtesy of Rodney Grant, who rushed for 73 yards and two touchdowns.
Lake Brantley's loss was their eighth straight on the road (dating back to last season), which dropped their overall record down to 1-6. That rough patch could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged seven points per game. Seminole is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 6-2 record this season.
Here's a few offensive stats to keep an eye on ahead of Friday's matchup: Lake Brantley has been unstoppable on the ground this season, having averaged 258.3 rushing yards per game. However, it's not like Seminole struggles in that department as they've been averaging 184.1 per game. It's looking like Friday's contest might have some serious battles in the trenches.
Lake Brantley was taken down by Seminole 37-7 in their previous matchup back in October of 2022. Will Lake Brantley have more luck at home instead of on the road?
