5A Region III District 21 recap October 8, 2013
Port Arthur Memorial moved up to 176 from 282 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in 5A Region III District 21. The Titans climbed the ranks as a result of falling to Channelview 52-14.
La Porte was the team that gained the most ground in the standings this week, jumping from fifth to third in the league. Earlier in the week, the Bulldogs defeated West Brook 34-7.
Deer Park's dynamic duo of Conner Means and Daniel Demmon proved to be unstoppable against Sterling, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. Means threw for 167 yards and 2 touchdowns and Demmon had 120 yards receiving. Chris Story helped Deer Park's passing attack out by catching 3 balls for 51 yards.
La Porte's offense cannot be tamed this season and the Bulldogs feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Jordan Jackson has thrown for 687 yards and 9 touchdowns this season, while David Terrebonne has 32 catches for 416 yards.
An important game coming up in the league this week will be when Port Arthur Memorial takes on North Shore. At the moment, Kenny Harrison's team is in fifth, while the Mustangs are in first.
The Titans fell to the Falcons 52-14 last week, the largest margin of any game.
