Atlanta Classical Academy secured a 66-62 W over the Royal Knights. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
Atlanta Classical Academy's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Miller McGowan led the charge by dropping a double-double on 28 points and ten rebounds. McGowan is crushing the point category: he's posted at least 17 every time he's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Andres Wright, who scored 20 points along with eight rebounds.
When it comes to explaining why Elite Scholars Academy lost, one person who can't be blamed is Jordan Miller. Despite the final result, he almost dropped a double-double on 23 points and nine rebounds. It was the first time this season that Miller scored 15 or more points. Jerel Clark was another key contributor, scoring 12 points along with five rebounds.
Even though they lost, Elite Scholars Academy smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 17 offensive rebounds. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Atlanta Classical Academy only pulled down ten offensive rebounds.
Atlanta Classical Academy is on a roll lately: they've won 14 of their last 17 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 17-6 record this season. As for Elite Scholars Academy, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-18.
