Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a  season-high score is even better (just ask Woodland). They were the clear victors by  a  17-1 margin over the Natomas Nighthawks on Tuesday. The team's explosion at the plate also rewarded the Wolves with their most commanding win of the  season.
 Taylin Gill made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she  kept things locked down with   no  earned runs or hits over five innings pitched. What's more,  she posted five  strikeouts, the most she's  had since back in April of 2024. She was also big at the plate,  scoring two  runs and  stealing a base while going 2-for-3.
 In other batting news,  Izzy Loesch was  incredible,  going 3-for-4 with four  RBI, two  runs,  and one  double. That's the most  RBI  she has posted since back in April of 2024.  Sofia Sanchez also deserves some recognition as  she  snagged her first  stolen base of the season.
 Woodland  always had someone on base and  finished the game having  posted an OBP of .667. That's the best  OBP they've posted all season.
Woodland's  victory was their first in the league, bumping their league record up to 1-4 and their overall record up to 4-11. As for Natomas, their loss was  their third straight on the road, which  dropped their record down to 1-10.
 Woodland and Natomas could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage  in the MaxPreps California Rankings. The Wolves will  square off against  Destiny Christian Academy  at 4:30  p.m.  on Thursday with a big rank  disadvantage  (874 vs. 46). Meanwhile,  Natomas (ranked 1004th) will meet Casa Roble (ranked 260th)  at 4:30  p.m.  on Thursday.
