Fayette lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Payton Oeth, who dropped a double-double on 22 points and 11 rebounds. That's the first time this season that Oeth scored 15 or more points. Another player making a difference was Kaleb Friebe, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and 11 assists.
Pilot Grove pushed their record up to 4-5 with that win, which was their fourth straight at home dating back to last season. As for Fayette, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-5.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Pilot Grove will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Slater at 7:30 p.m. on January 9, 2024.
