It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Centennial had no problem doing just that on Friday. They blew past the Highland Scots 11-2. The result was nothing new for the Golden Hawks, who have now won nine matchups by nine runs or more so far this season.
Reese Stover made a splash no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, pitching six innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off nine hits. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. That's the most runs she has posted since back in February.
In other batting news, Lundyn Harrison was incredible, going 3-for-5 with one home run, three runs, and three RBI. That's the most runs she has posted since back in April of 2025. Another player making a difference was Alex Andersen, who went 3-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and two doubles.
Centennial lost a few balls and finished the game with three home runs. That's the most home runs they've managed all season.
The win (which was Centennial's third in a row) raised their record to 16-13. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.3 runs over those games. As for Highland, their defeat ended a ten-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 20-8-1.
Looking ahead, Centennial will face off against Garces Memorial at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The Rams' pitching crew has only allowed 2.2 runs per game this season, so the Golden Hawks' hitters will have their work cut out for them. Highland does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
