Webutuck has enjoyed a two-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They will take on the Hawthorne Valley Wildcats at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
It's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 80-37, which was the final score in Webutuck's tilt against Mount Academy on Tuesday. Webutuck was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 47-25.
Meanwhile, Hawthorne Valley's six-game losing streak dating back to last season came to an end last Monday. They snuck past Berlin/New Lebanon with a 56-51 win.
Hawthorne Valley's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Oliver Towe, who scored 19 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Fabian Gitt-Henderson, who scored 16 points.
Webutuck's loss was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season, which bumped their record down to 0-3. As for Hawthorne Valley, the win got them back to even at 1-1.
