Chadwick is 2-8 against Providence since March of 2019 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Dolphins will head out on the road to face off against the Pioneers at 3:15 p.m. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Chadwick was handed a six-run loss in their previous outing, but that didn't affect their clutch gene on Tuesday. They skirted past Westridge 5-3. The victory was a breath of fresh air for the Dolphins as it put an end to their four-game losing streak.

Sammy Santa Ana made a big impact no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out 15 batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off six hits. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't tossed less than eight strikeouts any time she's pitched this season. She was also big at the plate, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with two runs and one stolen base.
Santa Ana wasn't the only one making solid contact as two players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Sophie Stanley, who went 2-for-4 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run. That stolen base marked the first that Stanley has snagged this season.
Meanwhile, Providence had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 6 runs) and they went ahead and made it three on Thursday. Everything went their way against the Panthers as they made off with an 18-5 win. The Pioneers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won four games by six runs or more this season.
Like Chadwick, Providence also got a great game from a two-way player: Madelynn Watts. She struck out eight batters over five innings while giving up just one earned (and four unearned) runs off nine hits (and only one walk). Watts was also stellar in the batter's box, going a perfect 2-for-2 with three runs and three RBI.
In other batting news, Delailah Lopez was a standout: she went 4-for-5 with one home run, six RBI, and three runs. Those six RBI gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Gloria Galindo, who went 4-for-5 with two stolen bases, three runs, and three RBI.
Chadwick's record now sits at 3-6. As for Providence, their record is now 5-3.
Chadwick suffered a grim 8-0 defeat to Providence in their previous matchup back in April of 2024. Can the Dolphins avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
