Baseball Recap: Lytle Drops Season-High Score on Dilley

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Lytle). Their pitchers stepped up to hand the Dilley Wolves a 22-0 shutout on Tuesday. Perhaps unsurprisingly given the team's high-flying offense, the game also marked the team's biggest victory of the season.

The team relied heavily on Toby Davila, who got on base in all six of his plate appearances with three stolen bases, four runs, and five RBI. Those four runs gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Weston Jackson, who scored three runs while getting on base in all three of his plate appearances.

Lytle has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five games. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-10 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 13.2 runs over those games. This is the second loss in a row for Dilley and nudges their season record down to 8-5.

Lytle wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next match, a 6-2 defeat against Hondo on the 28th. As for Dilley, they have also already played their next contest, a 4-3 victory against Natalia on the 28th.
