Softball Recap: Brewer Picks Up Third Consecutive Victory

Brewer entered their tilt with Saginaw on Tuesday with two consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with three. They put the hurt on the Rough Riders with a sharp 16-1 win. The Bears might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 12 games by six runs or more this season.

Lilly Meller was incredible, scoring three runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-3. That's the most hits she has posted since back in March. Another player making a difference was Kamren Pride, who scored a run while going 1-for-3.

Brewer always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .571. They are 6-1 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.

Brewer pushed their record up to 15-11 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. The home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 16.7 runs over those games. As for Saginaw, they are on a 12-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-20.

Looking ahead, Brewer will head out to square off against Granbury at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Pirates have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 9.33 runs per game on average), something the Bears will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Saginaw, they will square off against Aledo at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Rough Riders' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Bearcats have averaged an impressive 8.5 runs per game this season.
