Enochs is 8-2 against Turlock since March of 2022 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Tuesday. The Eagles will look to defend their home field against the Bulldogs at 4:00 p.m. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Turlock will challenge a team with plenty of momentum: Enochs extended their winning streak to four on Thursday. The Eagles put the hurt on Gregori with a sharp 11-1 win. The game was the first time the Eagles have beaten the Jaguars on their field since March 30, 2023.
Kaylee Ruiz tossed a big game, pitching five innings while giving up just one earned run off five hits.
On the hitting side, Makayla Alailima was a standout: she went 3-for-4 with five RBI, three runs, and one triple. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in March. The team also got some help courtesy of Camila Ramirez Quintana, who got on base in all four of her plate appearances with three runs, two doubles, and one RBI.
Enochs was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .500. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .355 or higher in 12 consecutive contests.
Meanwhile, Turlock entered their tilt with Downey on Thursday with three consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with four. They were the clear victors by a 13-1 margin over the Knights.
Cadee Campbell and AylA LAcerdA did most of the damage at the plate: Campbell went 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, three runs, and four RBI, while Lacerda went a perfect 3-for-3 with three stolen bases, three runs, and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Rylee Murphy, who went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI.
Enochs pushed their record up to 20-4 with the victory, which was their ninth straight on the road. Those road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.0 runs on average over those games. As for Turlock, their victory bumped their record up to 12-14.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Tuesday as neither team is afraid to steal. Enochs has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 3.1 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Turlock struggles in that department as they've been averaging 3.7 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
Everything went Enochs' way against Turlock in their previous matchup back in April, as Enochs made off with a 14-4 win. Do the Eagles have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Bulldogs turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
