They took a 60-56 hit to the loss column at the hands of Monta Vista. Basis Independent Silicon Valley lost against Monta Vista in their previous head to head back in January, too, but the margin this time around was much closer than the 71-46 score last time.
Despite the loss, Basis Independent Silicon Valley still got an impressive performance from Justin Wang, who scored 20 points along with 5 rebounds and 3 blocks. Wang scored a full 35.7% of Basis Independent Silicon Valley's points, the second time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Robert Ji, who scored 12 points.
Basis Independent Silicon Valley's defeat dropped their record down to 1-1. As for Monta Vista, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 3-1.
Basis Independent Silicon Valley will be playing at home against Del Mar at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Monta Vista, they will face off against Live Oak at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday.
