West Washington has gone 8-2 against Eastern recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Thursday. The Senators will be playing in front of their home fans against the Musketeers at 5:30 p.m. West Washington is currently enjoying a perfect season and no doubt wants to keep things rolling.
West Washington is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They never let Christian Academy get on the board and left with an 18-0 victory on Tuesday. The Senators might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won four matches by six runs or more this season.
Macy Lowery made a big impact no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, tossing one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. Lowery was also solid in the batter's box, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 1-for-3.
In other batting news, Lilly Thompson was incredible, going 1-for-2 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. Those RBI were her first of the season. Another player making a difference was Meredith Deaton, who scored three runs and stole a base while going 1-for-3.
West Washington was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .429. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Christian Academy only posted a batting average of .062.
Meanwhile, Eastern suffered their closest loss since May 11, 2024 on Wednesday. They fell just short of Providence by a score of 5-3.
Like West Washington, Eastern also got a great game from a two-way player: Bracie Jackson. She struck out 11 batters over six innings while giving up just one earned (and four unearned) runs off four hits (and only one walk). Jackson has been consistent : she hasn't tossed less than seven strikeouts any time she's pitched this season. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with two doubles and one RBI.
In other batting news, Sidney Patton was cooking despite her team's loss, scoring two runs while going 2-for-4.
West Washington pushed their record up to 6-0 with the win, which was their fourth straight at home. The home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.0 run on average over those games. As for Eastern, they now have a losing record of 2-3.
Both West Washington and Eastern just can't seem to miss. The Senators have been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 9.3 hits per game. However, it's not like Eastern struggles in that department as they've been averaging only 5.6 hits. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
West Washington beat Eastern 4-1 in their previous meeting back in May of 2024. Do the Senators have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Musketeers turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
