It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Trinity had no problem doing just that on Monday. Everything went their way against the Biglerville Canners as they made off with an 8-1 win. The Shamrocks might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 14 matchups by six runs or more this season.
Landry Murray spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered a run (which was unearned) on four hits.
On the hitting side, Ana Ness was incredible, going 2-for-3 with one home run, three runs, and one stolen base. She continues to improve, besting her previous run total in each of the last three games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Anna Sheaffer, who went 1-for-4 with one home run and three RBI.
Trinity was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .379. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Biglerville only posted a batting average of .192.
The victory was the fifth in a row for Trinity, bringing their record up to 16-4. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.6 runs on average over those games. As for Biglerville, their defeat ended a six-game streak of away wins and brought them to 15-6.
