It was a good run, but The Brookwood Warriors unfortunately witnessed the end of their four-game winning streak on Friday. They were beaten by Valwood 77-42. This was one game where the offenses had no trouble playing at a high level.
Several Warriors players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was TJ Thomas, who rushed for 78 yards and three touchdowns, and also picked up 65 receiving yards. The team also got some help courtesy of Rex Schofill, who picked up 121 receiving yards and two touchdowns.
Valwood's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Marquis Fennell, who rushed for 208 yards and four touchdowns on only 13 carries. De'mar Riley was another key contributor, gaining 173 total yards and three touchdowns.
Brookwood's defeat dropped their record down to 6-4. As for Valwood, the win was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 8-1.
Brookwood will have plenty of time to ponder what went wrong as they've got a bye scheduled next week. After, they'll take on Pinewood Christian at 7:30 p.m. on November 17th. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Georgia (Pinewood Christian is ranked 328th, while Brookwood is ranked 327th). Valwood does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
