The Bruce Trojans had to endure a three-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. Everything went their way against Vardaman on Tuesday as Bruce made off with a 80-59 victory. The victory was just what Bruce needed coming off of a 100-80 loss in their prior contest.
Ashton Pierce continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, dropping a double-double on 35 points and 10 rebounds. That makes it two consecutive games in which he has scored at least 25% of Bruce's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Dannon Campbell, who scored 13 points along with 8 assists and 3 steals.
Bruce's win bumped their record up to 3-5. As for Vardaman, the last time they won on the road was back last Friday. Having now lost three straight away contests, they've bumped their record down to 0-3.
Bruce will face off against Calhoun City at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Calhoun City's favor is that they have posted big point totals every time they've taken the court this season. As for Vardaman, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Eupora at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
