The Carmel Rams had already won five in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 15.4 points), and they went ahead and made it six on Friday. They strolled past New Rochelle with points to spare, taking the game 20-6. Given Carmel's advantage in MaxPreps' New York football rankings (they are ranked 81st, while New Rochelle is ranked 224th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
The critical scores for Carmel came from Ryan Aabel and Damien Santiago.
Carmel's win was their 11th straight at home (dating back to last season), bumping their overall record up to 7-1. They've been dominating during the games in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 26.18 points. As for New Rochelle, they now have a losing record at 4-5.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Carmel will play host again and welcome Suffern, where Kickoff is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for New Rochelle, they will look to defend their home field on Friday against Ossining at 6:00 p.m. Hopefully Ossining focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up four on Friday.
