Legacy Charter will head out on the road to square off against First Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Legacy Charter is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 10.7 runs per game this season.
For some reason, the away team has come away with the win the last four times Legacy Charter and Real Life Christian Academy have met, but the home crowd finally got their W on Thursday. The Eagles fell just short of the Raptors by a score of 9-8. The Eagles haven't had much luck with the Raptors recently, as the team has come up short the last three times they've met.
Lindsay Donahey was huge while hitting and pitching even without the win. She struck out 11 batters over six innings while giving up three earned (and six unearned) runs off five hits. Donahey was even better at the plate, going 3-for-4 with four RBI, two runs, and two doubles.
Donahey wasn't the only one making solid contact as two players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Brooklynn Kowal, who went 2-for-4 with three runs.
Crescent City hit First Academy with a six-run sixth inning on Monday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Eagles lost 14-5 to the Raiders. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Eagles have suffered since March 31st.
Avery Keller was cooking despite her team's loss, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with two stolen bases and two runs. The team also got some help courtesy of Hayleigh Collop, who went 2-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double.
Legacy Charter's defeat dropped their record down to 7-7. As for First Academy, their loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 12-9.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Tuesday as neither team is afraid to steal. Legacy Charter has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 3 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like First Academy struggles in that department as they've been averaging 3.4 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
Legacy Charter might still be hurting after the 19-10 defeat they got from First Academy in their previous matchup back in March. Can Legacy Charter avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
