After a string of ten wins, the Walthill Blujays's good fortune finally ran out on Monday. They fell 57-46 to Tri County Northeast. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as Walthill came into the match with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' Nebraska basketball rankings (they are ranked 57th, while Tri County Northeast is ranked 208th).
Adrian Phillips and Ethan Parker certainly did their best on Monday to try and avoid the loss. Phillips scored 16 points, while Parker scored 14 points.
Walthill's loss ended a five-game streak of away wins and brought them to 10-1. As for Tri County Northeast, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matches, which provided a massive bump to their 6-7 record this season.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Walthill will take on Winside at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Tri County Northeast, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Pender on Tuesday. Pender is looking to tack on another W to their three-game streak on the road.
