 Westside  hit smart and  finished the game with only one  strikeout. The team has now struck out at least three batters  in six consecutive  matchups.
Westside has  been performing  incredibly well recently as they've  won six of their last seven games. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-6 record  this season. Those  victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.3 runs on average over those games. As for Emerald,  they are  on  a  four-game losing streak  that has dropped them down to 2-8.
The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Westside beat the Vikings by a score of  19-0 on Thursday.
