West Union is 0-10 against North Adams since February of 2019 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Wednesday. The West Union Dragons will head out on the road to take on the North Adams Green Devils at 7:30 p.m. The squads are rolling into the game with opposing streaks: West Union has struggled recently with three losses in a row, while North Adams will arrive with five straight wins.
West Union suffered their biggest loss since December 4, 2023 on Thursday. They took a serious blow against Whiteoak, falling 64-31.
Despite the defeat, West Union had strong showings from Madison Stout, who scored six points along with five assists and five rebounds, and Emily Stapleton, who scored four points.
Meanwhile, North Adams beat Chesapeake 39-28 on Saturday. Given North Adams' advantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 109th, while Chesapeake is ranked 366th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
West Union has not been sharp recently, as they've lost four of their last five contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-8 record this season. As for North Adams, they pushed their record up to 11-3 with that win, which was their third straight at home.
West Union was taken down by North Adams 55-23 in their previous meeting back in January of 2023. The game was all but decided by halftime, at which point West Union was down 35-9.
