Football Recap: Scotus Skates Past Schuyler with Ease

After only 13 points in their last matchup, Scotus made sure to put some points up on the board against Schuyler on Thursday. The Shamrocks took their contest with ease, bagging a 76-9 win over the Warriors. The game was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 56-0.

Thomas Settje was his usual excellent self, rushing for 163 yards and three scores on only ten carries. Those three rushing touchdowns gave him a new career-high. Carson Wessel was another major influence, as he rushed for eight yards and ran in a TD.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Scotus was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 340 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've managed all season.

The victory snapped Scotus' losing streak at four games and leaves them with a 2-4 record. As for Schuyler, they are on an 11-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-6.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Scotus will challenge rival Lakeview at 7:00 p.m. on the 10th. Meanwhile, Schuyler is set to square off against their familiar foe O'Neill on Friday.
