Basketball Recap: Conifer Wins Going Away Against Pomona

Conifer hadn't done well against Pomona recently (they were 0-3 in their previous three matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Thursday. The Conifer Lobos strolled past the Pomona Panthers with points to spare, taking the game 60-41. For the Lobos, this counts as revenge for the 68-58 win the Panthers walked away with the last time they faced one another back in February of 2024.

Benson White had a dynamite game for Conifer, dropping a double-double with 17 points and 14 rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Bennett Poniatowski, who posted ten points and five steals.

Conifer was working as a unit and finished the game with 15 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Pomona only seven assists.

Sebastian Reyes and Jaxon Perry certainly did their best on Thursday to avoid the loss. Reyes scored 13 points along with six boards and three steals, while Perry put up 12 points and seven rebounds. Another player making a difference was Jayden Morine, who earned seven points.

Conifer's victory bumped their record up to 12-10. As for Pomona, their defeat was their eighth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 7-14.

Conifer wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 59-48 loss against Evergreen on the 19th. As for Pomona, they have also already played their next game, a 71-47 defeat against D'Evelyn on the 19th.
