Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a  season-high score is even better (just ask Chapman). They slipped by the Valley Heights Mustangs  51-50 on Friday.
  Jed Moody had an outrageously good game as he  almost  dropped  a double-double with 28 points and nine  boards. The dominant performance gave  him a new career-high in  rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of  Drew Elliott, who  posted nine  points.
Chapman's first  victory this season bumped their record up to 1-14. As for Valley Heights,  they are  on  a  four-game losing streak  that has dropped them down to 3-11.
 Coming up, Chapman will square off against Concordia at 7:30  p.m.  on Tuesday. Concordia knows how to get  points on the board -- the  team has finished with 55 points or more in their past four matchups -- so hopefully Chapman likes a good challenge. Valley Heights has  already played their next  game (against Clay Center), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
