The Hayden Tigers's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Saturday after their third straight loss. They were beaten by Plateau Valley 59-17. Hayden has struggled against Plateau Valley recently, as their game on Saturday was their ninth consecutive lost matchup.
Perhaps unsurprisingly given the score, Hayden struggled to work together and finished the game with only three assists. They were crushed by their opponents in that department as Plateau Valley racked up 15 assists.
Plateau Valley's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jack Vig, who scored 14 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jackson Bevan, who scored ten points along with five rebounds and two steals.
Hayden has not been sharp recently, as they've lost seven of their last eight games, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-9 record this season. As for Plateau Valley, the win was the ninth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 9-1.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Hayden will take on Rangely at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Rangely is no doubt hoping to put an end to a four-game streak of away losses. As for Plateau Valley, they will be playing at home against Caprock Academy at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Caprock Academy will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Colorado Rankings (they are ranked 293rd, while Plateau Valley is ranked 47th).
